Hi,

How does one capture the princess in Civilization III the expansion pack:
Conquest ?

It seems the princess doesn't move etc...

Maybe one needs to construct roads under the princess or build a city on it
?

Bye,
Skybuck.

Hmmm.. I just read something on the civ fanatics forum about a "capture
button/action" so I look for it and test it later on...

No time at the moment ;) :)

Hopefully it works that would be coool.

Bye,
Skybuck.

Hello Skybuck,

It's a known bug which to the best of my knowledge was never
corrected. Always had me baffled how they took something that worked
in PTW and stuffed it up in Conquests.

I think you need to have advanced action buttons turned on in the
preferences to see the capture button when you move another unit on top of
the princess.

I always have advanced buttons on... today I played a game with capture the
princess.

I captured the enemy city/capital... though there was no princess anymore ?

I'll try again sometime... but I doubt it will work it's probably a bug.

Bye,

The manual says something about capturing her and than that unit will
bring her back to your capitol. I don't think I ever figured out what
to do either. A bug would be a good explanation.

Hmm maybe it's because of the stack attack.

Maybe the first unit to "touch" the princess has to go back to the capital.

When sounds kinda weird anyway... what happens if the unit dies ? ;)

Anyway it's not worth trying this out unless you happen to get this chance
:)

Though seeing a princess move around the screen could be fun =D

Bye,
Skybuck.

I don't know if it works the same way or not. But in the middle ages
Conquest you can carry around a religous item. I think the writing is
a different color when you hover your cursor over the unit carring it.
If the unit dies the item stays put until someon else picks it up
Caputuring the pricess sounds simular but probably returns to the
original capitol if the unit dies.
